In 2003, I had a conversation with my daughter during a girls’ weekend in NY and I was explaining the definition of Serendipity. She was so enchanted by the meaning of the word that she said, “When you open a Spa you should name it ‘Serendipity'”. At that point, opening a Spa was the last thing on my mind. With all the challenges of life and a family, working for someone else seemed a lot simpler. A few months later, things changed and it all began . . . Serendipitously!
I cannot even begin to list how many people have helped me in this endeavor, whether it be with painting, sharing antique store finds, digging out the backyard pond, or even clearing trees. Employees, friends, family and even clients came on their own time – even with their families – to make it all happen. In just three short years we outgrew our first home on Hammond St. in Concord and relocated to a beautiful 216-year-old remodeled home on 23 Sheep Davis Rd./ Rt. 106 with room to grow! All of these miraculous people have helped to create this very special place and have really made it what it is today.
I have been so blessed to have found so many wonderful employees who all share my dream of making a difference. The heart of each employee is shown in their hands and their smiles. Each is different in their own way, bringing unique gifts and talents to the Spa. We don’t find the good people around here – they have found us! We have had so many wonderful experiences together as a team – from donating nights of work for Dress for Success and Habitat for Humanity to collecting toys for the YMCA. We have immensely enjoyed servicing all of our unbelievable clients. Serendipity has been the destination of many happy memories for our clients, including bridal parties, couples time, Spa-garita Week, girls’ day out, Kings for the Day, moms-to-be, teen birthday parties and (my personal favorite) a wedding proposal during a couples massage (P.S. she said yes!).
It is easy to see that everyone here is part of a family and is here for the same reason.
Please be our guest for the day or for an hour and let us show you why we put the “ahhh” in Spa! Remember: taking time for yourself is maybe the hardest thing to do but quite possibly the most important. It’s easy to get caught up in life and forget to take time to. . .
